Design and construction management professional Ankit Patel has joined Miller Construction Company as senior preconstruction manager for the Fort Lauderdale-based design-build and construction services firm.
An architect and LEED Accredited Professional, Patel leads the company’s design/build process, managing design and estimating functions. He brings in-depth expertise in all aspects of virtual design and construction (VDC), including Building Information Modeling, which limit project owners’ risk and ensure efficient, cost effective collaboration of design, engineering and construction project teams.
“Providing unusually robust preconstruction services has proved essential in building the longstanding client relationships that drive our growth,” said Miller Construction Company Senior Vice President Brian Sudduth. “At a project’s earliest stage, clients know they can rely on us to accurately forecast real costs and advise on critical choices in site selection, design, building systems and materials,” he said. “Ankit’s preconstruction leadership, technological innovation and client-first approach are a great fit for our team.”
Patel most recently served as preconstruction/VDC manager for D. Stephenson Construction of Fort Lauderdale. Earlier in his career, he was lead estimator/Building Information Modeling manager with The Weitz Company of West Palm Beach. He received his bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of Pune, India, in addition to postgraduate research and coursework at the M.E. Rinker, Sr. School of Construction Management at the University of Florida.
Founded in 1973, Miller Construction Company is a prominent South Florida design/builder and construction-services firm serving the commercial, industrial, retail, education, hospitality and healthcare markets.
